Real-time information on Riga's public transport schedule is available on the Rīgas satiksme website
Rīgas satiksme has made improvements to the common vehicle information system, resulting in the introduction of a system that provides online display of information on arrival and departure times of public transport. The information is currently available at most stops, where it can be viewed by scanning the QR code on the schedule. The online arrival times can also be found on the Company's website www.rigassatiksme.lv under Routes and schedules. This information will also be available on the Koda biļete (Code ticket) app in the near future.
Online arrival times at a stop can be viewed by scanning the QR code on the schedule on your smartphone. The phone thus acts as a kind of display board. Similarly, online information on arrival times can be found on the Rīgas satiksme website www.rigassatiksme.lv under Routes and schedules. In this section, you can view a real-time map of all vehicles, find out how long it will take for the transport to arrive at a particular stop, and plan your route.
Work on the new system is ongoing and various improvements are being made every day. Overall, the system is working well, but as the new system is rolled out to a wider range of users, some shortcomings may be observed. Rīgas satiksme invites passengers who notice any shortcomings to report them to tablo@rigassatiksme.lv.
With the introduction of the new system, some of the screens at stops, which were installed in 2013, are technologically outdated and unfortunately do not support online data display. In order to provide online data at the stops, it is planned to replace them with modern energy-efficient screens using ePaper technology, which will reflect real-time traffic information as well as other up-to-date information from Rīgas satiksme.
